I went for a mindchamps talk yesterday at tpy hub. It was real cool. There was a workshop thingum which teaches an effective way of learning/memorising/understanding the words and knowing the meaning of the words. I'll just list out some of the words I can remember now..
1)spindrift-spray blown across the sea
2)nebulous-difficult to see
3)uxorious-dependent upon one's wife
4)shackled-chained
5)apoplexy-sudden inability to move or feel
6)cheroot-cigar with open ends
7)abject-miserable
8)pyrexia-fever
9)ileum-third and final portion of the small intestines
10)antithesis-opposite, contrast of ideas
YAY mygawd I could remember all 10 words and their meaning, word for word! Haha, looks like mindchamps DOES have a lasting effect. Anyway, we were taught to learn the meaning through drawings, for example apoplexy. Apo sounds like apple, and one would naturally link an apple that causes "inability to move or feel" with Snow White, right! Yeah. So think of snow white who's immobilised and there you go, apoplexy! This is the most ingenious way of learning and the small class of 8 secondary school ppl quickly memorised all the meanings in a short span of half an hour.
Ohyeah, I'm so proud to be a biology student. The trainer asked all of us which word we already knew even before we saw the words, and almost all of them said "shackled" or "dunno", and I'm the only one who said "ileum":D And then he said "You take bio right? Can you tell me what's the other portion of the small intestines?" And whew I remembered, it's the duodenum!;D Throughout the lesson I was the one speaking up most which is really weird, cos I don't like to, so you can tell how quiet the class was like really.
The trainer's really amusing, he's those typical ahpek kind of uncle with belly but he's super humorous, he talks about going gaga over man-u, cracks loads of jokes.
At the end we had to go on stage and have this mini competition btw boys and girls to see who can say the meaning of the words the fastest, just to show the parents that mindchamps does work. Then we had to choose leaders for the group and when the trainer asked us to choose the girls immediately pointed to me._. This goes to show that people tend to put their confidence in those who speak up. Yeah right.
This post feels like an advertiser for mindchamps eh. But it's reallllyyyyy coooooool but super ex..$3000-$4000.
And yes thank me, cos you've just learnt 10 new difficult words.
P.S, my favourite word is uxorious:D Reason being really obvious.

My L1R5 is 9 and I'm pleased with my results except both languages, and I swear I'm gonna work much harder for HCL and english and get L1 of 2! It musn't screw up again. PTD was okay I guess. Ahh hope Mr Cheong didn't say anything weird to my mom and my mom didn't say anything embarrassing>:/
And, I do wish they would update the cca points, I've been stuck with 16 points ever since sec one. I so look forward to the day when I see 25 points:D Which will be soon. I want my 4 bonus points to be secured damn badly.
Gah. We're already thinking so much into O levels.

Anyway, I'm so hyped up about the new pieces we're gonna get to play! Like Noah's Ark. Dream come true leewei, rmb?! I like our ensemble piece for brass quintet Spirited away, much nicer than sound of music that we played last year. And the idea of a quintet's cool, too:D
Ohohoh! Watched 17 again after school with mel, it was AWESOME! Zac efron's so cool! It was way fantabulous, at the last part when Zac changed back into the 37 year old version of Mike I was like omg shit no more zac>:/ Aweesome movie ttly.
And I bought two really nice paper from a shop in PS, couldn't rmb the name of the shop. But they're really pretty! Have been wanting to buy those since forever, was hesitant cos one piece cost like $2.50 or more..But it's ok. Wanted to buy 3 at first and would have paid $10. Aw I really liked the design of the piece that I didnt buy in the end! So stoooopid.
What does tonight portend? POVERTY(essay) Hmph. ._.

Let me relate an absurd act that happened to me in the mrt.
So I was sitting at a corner minding my own business, when these two boys came in and sat next to me. And they appeared to be doing their own things too. I was texting tz then and the one next to me was so rude, he read what I was typing like wth? I tried to shield my hp from his prying eyes but apparently he got the gist of what I typed and the recipient, and said this damn loudly to his friend "Eh that tingxuan ah" blahblahblah. -.-His eyes got problem, can't even READ the name properly. Then he glanced at my hp somemore and saw that it was tingzhen, and quickly rectified his mistake by saying "she smsing tingzhen leh!" I was totally ignoring them. This kind of people just wanna attract attention which I'm NOT gonna grant them. To add insult to himself when I stood up he went "I went nanyang yesterday!". -.- Doesn't mean that all sleeveless uniforms are nanyang, ya know.
But anyway, school was fine. Lectures caused unconquerable ennui..felt like sleeping during SS. Ahhh. I need motivation!

I miss sec one. Thanks cheryl for sending me! I carelessly lost my wallet containing all those neos last year:/ Ugh. I loved those neos the most out of all we've taken. Oh, and as I was looking at all the neos I realised that from poorly decorated ones we've improved our skills!;D Much nicer ones now.
Napfa yesterday! Pftt. I could have gotten all As for my 5 stations but no..B for shuttle run. ): ALMOST made it to an A. But whatever matters most is that I got a gold..i guess. My life's full of golds!:D Did 2.4 too, lousyyyy. I never ever get 30 for napfa cos of 2.4 every time.>:/
Napfa made me have so much muscle aches today, was walking around and feeling the aches everytime I lift my leg, stretch, especially during kickboxing! zomg kickboxing was quite fun actually just that it worsened the aches-.- I'm freaking hobbling about now due to the intense cramps.
